Re: Very Eerie driving around today (Post Hurricane)

@pieman Like the others I am so sorry you lost your home during Sandy and had to endure such a cruel remark. Just remember Karma will return to settle that score.

As far as returning back north, I imagine you will not be alone. There is a big difference between visiting Florida for a month on vacation to escape the cold and snow and living there full time. The many months of humidity, high temps and fear of potential storms and evacuations are a part of life that are not for everyone.

Every area has its challenges and it is really a personal choice as to what we can handle as we age. I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do and my prayers to all who have lost so much.

Here is the Lee county sheriffs fly over of Fort Myers. Sanibel and the islands are in ruins.

@manny2  Thank you

Yes it was a shock to watch it go out to sea.

To this day, I wonder how far it went.

It was one of those old shake style homes so I'm sure it didn't last long, but still........

Thanks again for the kind thoughts.

Have a good day....

@Oznell

I just want to thank  you & everyone for the kind thoughts.

It was hard to watch your life go out to sea, but I remained, as mad as I was,

Felt like the days of the pandemic shutdown.

I had to go to a friends to help her and it's a "ghost town" nothing is open until Friday -- thankfully the storm missed our area.

It was just a wierd feeling...

and I continue to pray for those who were impacted.  We have a friend whose family is in Fort Myers's area he was going up today to bring them generator, fix his roof with tarps,etc.

We donated him cases of water from the community that were no longer needed to take with him.

Glad you are OKAY and thankful that the storm missed your area! Thoughts and prayers for those that sustained damage!  Not only for people but also my heart breaks for the animals too....

Glad to see rescue team "Samaritan's Purse" is there in the hardest hit area, with huge trucks full of heavy equipment and tools to help "mud out" houses, clear all the debris, cut downed trees, and re-roof structures that will need it.

So much work to be done.  Prayers for everyone in the entire devastated storm regions.
