Vendor on Amazon offered me money to remove a bad review

[ Edited ]

How would I contact Amazon to let them know this? The rep that e-mailed me offered to send the refund to my PayPal account (how stupid do they think I am?!) I refused the offer saying that I would not remove the review since I feel that the prospective customer has the right to read both bad & good reviews.

This is common practice on Amazon. One reason it's a last resort for me to make a purchase there.

I have heard of this dishonest practice, as well as all of the fake Amazon reviews there are.  Once my husband wrote an unfavorable review for a product he purchased from a third party vendor.  He wasn't contacted by the vendor, but he did receive a second shipment of the product he reviewed - as if he would suddenly change his mind about its qualities after receiving a second one free!

I would take the refund and remove the review.

I don't think leaving the negative review would make much of a difference anyway. jmo

@Daisy Sunflower No way would I take a bribe, and that's all it is, to remove an honest review.

Seriously? I don't need money that badly.

Call their customer service. The few issues I have had I have called them. I prefer talking to "chatting" or email.

When I receive orders, directly from Amazon, or a 3rd party vendor. I always get an email asking "how did we do". I always fill them out, and as I said above! If I am dissatisfied with something I call them. Pretty simple.

Me personally with your issue.  ????????

Amazon doesn't accept PayPal for payment.

Did not know that. I don't use PayPal, think my wife does. Strictly Visa at Amazon for me.

You got my attention with this info!

Re: Vendor on Amazon offered me money to remove a bad review

A while back I ordered a large heavy item.  We had just moved and I forgot to check shipping address.  Within minutes I contacted vendor to change delivery address.  He flatly refused, said it was too late.  So when delivery was made to our old address we had to drive over and accept delivery in the street, load the item up and take it home.

I gave vendor one star and told how he would not help me when I made an error on order.  He had the nerve to email me and ask for me to reconsider the bad review since I did receive my item.  Guess what?  He still has one star!
