Vegetable Oil Shortage

[ Edited ]

I just picked up an Italian hoagie for lunch from Wawa, a popular Mid-Atlantic area convenience store chain known for their fresh made hoagies (sub sandwich).

They have been out of oil for a week! Unbelievable.

It's usually olive or canola oil used for sub sandwiches.

Maybe your store didn't order their supplies on time???

We need one thread to report all these shortages.

Many of them are local.

I believe there are over 600 Wawas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and Florida. The problem may be anywhere in the supply chain, but to me it's significant.

That's one shortage that won't effect us. We only use avacado and coconut oil...

Why would you need "oil" for a sandwich?  Sounds awful.

@Tinkrbl44    All in what you like.   I remember the first time someone handed me a ham and Swiss on buttered bread.  I usually eat everything in front of me, but never butter on a cold sandwich.

@Tinkrbl44  Hoagies or submarine sandwiches are traditional workers' lunches and are deli meats, tomato, lettuce, onion, oil and vinegar on a long roll. Of course there are 1,000 different varieties, called by different names in different parts of the country. Try one!

@Tinkrbl44  oil, vinegar and oregano are pretty standard for subs.  Think Blimpies and where I get my sandwiches at Publix.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@Tinkrbl44 , You always blast people here, and yet you have never experienced an oil dressed sandwich??? Oh this is literally rich.
