Here is a shot of one of our local weathercasters tonight.  I have to say he's got guts.  His Christmas outfit was even wilder.

We went out for an early dinner and Red Lobster was packed. We got ashes  earlier in the day

My husband said ,did you see how some of the people looked at us...?I didn't, but  our foreheads made us look a bit like a chimney sweep. People might have expected us to break into a chorus of Chim Chimanee

I have never had ashes like these. I wonder how well I will scrub up?   The deacon must have thought I needed an extra dose of repentance, when he marked me with the sign of the cross

I suppose that type of thing might work in some places; it would never work where I live.  A red tie is about as far as any of our news or weather people would go.  He knows his viewers, he knew they'd get kick out of it.

@cherry  I must have lived a sheltered childhood. My first yr. at college, I encountered a girl in the dorm hallway with ashes on her forehead. Hoping to be helpful, I quickly whipped out a Kleenex saying, “Geeez Anne, you have some dirt on your forehead”. I received a stern look and a talking to!

Hope you enjoyed your dinner.

Lol! I have done the same thing for my patient years ago when I was just off the boat! He laughed and explained.
