Re: Vaccine Question

[ Edited ]

I started getting flu shots as a teacher and will keep getting them, especially working with the public.  I would be open to discussion with my doctor on a COVID 19 shot.

I have no choice in not getting a flu shot. I have to get one due to immune deficiency. I will gladly get the Covid 19 vaccine when it arrives.

In 2017, I contracted the flu even though I had the vaccine. I had pneumonia afterwards but my doctor told me, if not for the flu shot, I probably would have had a fatal case. Instead I recovered...

I have had flu twice and I get the flu shot EVERY YEAR without fail. May not be 100% effective but if you do get flu after getting the flu shot it wont be as severe. Both times I had flu were before I started getting the shot. Since getting the shot I have not had flu. As far as getting the Covid vaccine, like others, I will have to do my research before making a decision.

I've never gotten a flu shot.  I'm on the fence about getting it in the Fall, honestly.

As far as a vaccine for Covid-19, I wouldn't be so eager to get that one until it's been proven safe.  I'd be very surprised if that was ready to go this year.

YES!  I get the senior stronger flu shot and will get the COVID19 vaccine as soon as possible. I will even volunteer to test it.

as a young person, I never got flu shots... I was against shots... STUPID.

I got wiser as I got older... now I  always get my shots that are suggested.    Yes I would get the new shot for this virus as soon as it is available... just as I get my regular flu shot.

I always get a flu shot, the senior version.  I will follow my doctor’s suggestion about when exactly to get it.  of course, I will strongly consider getting the anti-virus vaccine.  I will add that I have taken high doses of Vitamin C for years, along with my other daily supplements.

Just because a person has never had the flu in way means that that person is somehow immune for life. It's the luck of the draw.

We always get one and have never had anything but mild reactions. It's not 100 percent, but even if you do get the flu, it seems to be milder.

As for the virus, if it is as well vetted as all other vaccines, then yes, we'll get it. I hope that soon we will get some definitive answer as to whether someone who tests positive for Covid has immunity, and if so, for how long. To me, given that my daughter and family have recovered from Covid, it is uppermost in my mind as to whether we can be them again.

I've gotten flu shots of regualrly for so many years now that I can't remember what year it was I didn't.

I will have the vaccine once the scientists are more certain than they are now that they've come upon one that has a chance of working for the masses safely.   I'm not thinking they will find a 100% barrier, a final solution that will eradicate the coronavirus forever and ever.

I know what I have to lose if they are not successful, if our medical personnel have to work through another h-ll like that they're in now. In my mind, accepting a vetted vaccine should help me and them.
