V-83886 Guard your ID rollers

Watching the presentation of these rollers and I must say they are well worth 19.98. I have them in the purple and use them everyday on my mail, empty medication bottles, Amazon packages, QVC packages etc. They really block out your personal info.  The ink on 1 roller last for months  depending on how much you use it. IMO it's a great buy ! Just sayin

@Goodie2shoes.  I use a big, fat, oversized black felt-tipped marker I got at Walmart for a couple dollars.  Been using the same marker for about 3 years.  Does the same thing.  Makes print totally illegible.

I have used markers before and yes they work well. I bought these because they cover several lines of the label vs one line at a time ( just something new to try) and it was so much quicker especially for large labels like QVC and Amazon and it worked out great. I have been using 1 roller of the 3 pack for about 4-5 months and it hasn't run out of ink yet so they will easliy last over a year. Thanks for your post

It may also have to do with the type of ink used. Regular ink can be "washed" so that someone can reuse say a check or get an address. Gel ink can't be washed so the info stays covered. Not sure if this is the case with the rollers, but the description said it was special formulated ink.

Re: V-83886 Guard your ID rollers

Thanks for this Heads Up.

Ive used the Black Perm Magic Markers, & currently use the Roller Inks.  Sometimes, depends on the label material that the personal info is printed on.

My former neighborhood children LOVED using the Rollar thingie on the personal info.  Over & Over & Over again, on the same address!

Heck, when they were thru with it, I couldnt even tell what was formerly written there.

I wonder - were they taking out their aggressions on those poor poor envelopes?  heh

NOPE!!!  Have a shredder.  Works great.  For those things I can't shred, I use a large black marker.  Also works great and costs less.  The QVC product is just another way to separate you from your hard-earned bucks.

Don't think an address is a secret anymore, so I don't care.  Since I stopped using printed checks, that also isn't a concern either.

An email and a phone number are things to protect though.

@Kachina624  Same here. Even after using the oversized marker some items we shred anyway.

I have these & a shredder.  I like the rollar but it doesn't hide the name & address if it is on shiny paper.
