So many lives, so changed, forever.

     Theirs, *Most Definitely* -

       And Each of *Ours Also!*

What if?

Each Massacre & such Anniversary we:

(safely)  *HUG* (Someone We Love)

       Tell them "I LOVE YOU!"

"Thoughts & Prayers" just arent working.

This stuff gets "internalized" inside of us!

Just a thought....

Let's see how it feels...

@JoyFilled Warrior, lovely idea to hug and appreciate those we love, I will hug my sister when she gets home later.  I still do believe our prayers matter for these families.

[ Edited ]

I feel a need to share something heavy on my heart.

There's a Texas Rep who I think needs "Kindnesses"  He's been active in this Uvalde Massacre, then and since.  He saw *ALL* these pics, videos, in their horrid, indescribable, inconscienceable form.  I think, feel he's sinking.  Hope Im wrong.

I dont know what to do, "to show him a Kindness," that's appropriate, that just demonstrates support, & caring out here..

        Senator Roland Gutierrez:

              District 19, Ulvalde, TX

Just looking at ALL these pics, I wld imagine wld be instant PTSD.

Any ideas?  I'm in fear abt this, for him, esp after his appearance on TV today, after continual appearances since it happened.  Very Active,

We can't do anything to change it but the state of Texas can and they won't.
Thoughts and prayers do nothing and only make the thinker or prayer feel better. Real change takes backbone and the majority in the Texas legislature don't have one.

I don’t want a hug, I want policy and change.

I wish I could take away the pain and sorrow the families are enduring.  So so very sad and heartbreaking.

Re: Uvalde-1yr Anni-?New Way to Honor Them,Us?

One of my reasons for this thread was:

Of course the Uvalde's are happening, physically, where *they* are.  But, WE are part of the WHOLE also!!    It's happening TO US TOO!     ALL of us!

And WE need to be mindful of our OWN need for healing, & our own need for HUGS too!

esp since we too, are "part of the whole!"

WE need to be responsible in knowing when WE need a "Kindness!" (or "Hug") too!

and take responsibility, & ask, or get that kindness, healthfully!

And as we continue to become filled, GIVE a kindness too!

Remember John Donne, the Poet, Author?

"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

(John Donne, "No Man is an Island")

*GET   your KINDNESS!

*GIVE your KINDNESS!

As best you need, or have one!

Otherwise, nothing changes!

No matter how much we complain!

      or hurl hate & complaint.

@JoyFilled Warrior these are all lovely sentiments. If you watched or listened to the parents of the dead school children, you would hear their frustration with feel good attempts to create change to a deadly, US-exclusive problem. I've grown tired of the nice sentiments, calls for prayers and candlelight vigils. This is a gun fight. We don't show up with a hug.
Sometimes kids who throw rocks need a hug. But before you hug them, you take the rocks away.

Not everyone is a hugger.  Many people wouldn't appreciate this and would consider it an invasion of personal space.

I can think of others ways to honor and protect everyone but they'd be considered political.

@Kachina624 that would be me.

If you are a parent, are you spending time with your children. Are you aware as to if your child is struggling with low self esteem,  depression, drug use or mental health issues ?

If so Do Not ignore your child get them help  so that  they don't feel so angry and  desparate to enact such violence  on fellow students. Teachers are you aware of any children needing help - if so what are you  and your school doing ?
