Using Doordash for UPS pick ups

Just had to write about this service. I don't have a car anymore----so trying to get big, heavy, awkward packages to the UPS store for returning, is not easy. I live about a mile from the store--an easy walk--but not carrying the above type of box. I emailed Doordash this a.m.  and they were here in about 15 minutes to pick up and deliver that box to the UPS store. Wow!! Cost $3 to do that and then I tip $3. A few bucks well spent--to me  Woman Happy

That is good to know and I'm glad it worked out for you. It's a few people I'll pass that on to because they also no longer drive and might need that service.

You can go to the UPS website and schedule a pick up at your home. It is easy and no need to have a car. Try it next time you have a return package. The same is true for USPS.

Yes, they've been doing that for a while now.  It's quick and easy.  You can also schedule a pick up directly with UPS.

If you don't have a prepaid return label. UPS does home pickups. for prepaid shipping labels and boxes, and you can schedule a pickup time on its website. You affix the appropriate shipping label and leave the package outside in a prominent or specified location. A UPS driver adds the pickup to their route, and the parcel is on its way.

@wagirl

  • I'm just as impressed with your "easy walk" as I am with the doordash service for UPS drop off.

@monicakm ---since I don't drive anymore, DD and I are out walking most days, running errands or just walking--and we usually cover at least 2 miles a day. But trying to carry a bulky box for any distance would be very difficult. Have an all terrain  cart I use too  but it isn't big enough for a bulky box. PS and by the way--not driving anymore is such a relief----I hated driving!!! Am living near the bus and or use Lyft/Uber too.

Re: Using Doordash for UPS pick ups

I did try to get UPS to do a pick up--it would have cost me $10. And yes, I did have a UPS label. Door dash was easy and super quick and only cost $3. And it got on the truck to go back today.
