Re: Use "HELP" & "SETTINGS" to navigate the new forums

Photos from a Mac:

I had this image stored on my desktop and was able to load it using the Insert/edit image icon.

This is a QVC product shot. Previously I could grab the image url and load, but as you'll note they've removed that option. I tried copy/paste, dragging and dropping, and the command protocol you suggested but nothing worked. The only way I was able to load this was by dragging it my desktop, and loading it via the image/edit icon; the other way was to drag it into photobucket.

I don't think having to load images this way is a great user experience. I've posted this all over the place hoping someing from QVC has a better answer and can tell what I've missed but silence on that front! If anyone figure this out, let me know!

@gardensla, I'm sorry it's not working.  I need to correct and edit my post, though.  (red face)  I think it's usually called the "command" key on the Mac.  The one with an apple, or "cmd," or the quad squiggle on some devices, just to the left of the space bar.  Does that help?

The only way I've found to copy and paste text is to highlight and go to use the Edit option of the Chrome menu. I can copy and paste using that. In the previous version I could right click to copy and paste but in this version that no longer works.

Everything in this version takes extra steps on a Mac.

I'm sorry you're having problems.  I've been copying and pasting on my Mac since the first day of the new forum platform.  (I just did it again on another thread.)  As I said in an earlier reply, it must be a problem with some of the browser addons/extentions or other settings on certain devices because it's not a universal problem.

Re: Use "HELP" & "SETTINGS" to navigate the new forums

On I can copy and paste text (not images, though) but cant perform the task via right click as I could before.

Not a huge problem, but need to somehow let IT know about it because one shouldn't have to be versed in shortcuts and work-arounds to navigate a public forum!

It is the Command key on a Mac, but you can't copy and paste on here from a Mac. You can, however, post pictures from your Photos instead of going through Photo Bucket, which is great.

@NickNack1, as I said I've been copying and pasting text here with my Mac since the first day of the new forums and it's worked with no  problem.  I can't comment on photos, since I'm not a fan of posting images (no offense to those who do, just not my preference and some of them trigger my migraines).

@I just happened to see this.  I've found others who have tried to reach me by typing @NickNack1.  I'm not getting my notifications this way.  I haven't tried copying ad pasting text on my Mac DooBDoo.  I'll try that and see if it works.

Re: Use "HELP" & "SETTINGS" to navigate the new forums

Thanks DBD! Maybe after lunch or tomorrow morning, depending, I'll go in and check those things out. I was just trying what CB had said, and for some reason the 2nd item she mentioned didn't show on mine. I looked hard too. So then I tried to come back and a screen came up like I was not able to respond. Semi started over. So I may give it shot, thanks.

NickNack, et al - I don't think there is an '@' before anybody's name here, so that might be the problem.

I don't even understand why numerous posters are putting that before posters' names here.  I believe it's a Twitter thing and this isn't Twitter.

Does that just make peoples' posts go to Twitter or something?  I hope not because I don't do Twitter and I don't want anything I say to be there.  If I did, I'd join Twitter.  Smiley Happy

@chickenbutt@, there's an @ before my name in Message 15.  One of the Customer Care reps posted that if you put an @ before someone's name a drop down menu will appear.  You choose someone from that menu, and they should get a notification that there's a message for them with a link to where it is.  I just tried it with you to see if you'll get a notification.

I don't know about that, but if you hover your cursor over someone's name with the '@' sign before it, it will show up like a link to that person's profile page if you click their name.  Just like if you click their name where it appears on the side of the posts, or enter their name in the search bar.

I'm not sure that the 'notification' feature is active yet.
