Thanks to everyone that suggested I go back to Sam's Club and see if the earring was turned into Customer Service.
It happened within about 8 feet of the entrance to the store. I can't help but think it would have been stepped on or ran over with a cart within a short period of time.
But I am going to try anyway. You never know unless you try. But can't help but think that if the earring was found, it is in bad shape.

Depending on the value of the earring and terms of an insurance policy , you might be able to file a claim with your Homeowners insurance so you can purchase a replacement . You might beable to have a jeweler make a pendant out of the one earring you still have.

Did you call Sam's Club, there's some pretty honest people out there that might of turned it in to customer service.
Also, did you check the car and outside the car.
An small bank envelope of money fell out of my pocket and I went back to the store's parking lot and sure enough, the envelope was on the ground untouched.
I'm sure you'll find it....................so sorry you lost one.

Sorry for your loss. I once lost the center stone out of a ring I love
at one of those huge, awful, dress up, work events. DH held me down until everyone left, and he and I + several of the waitstaff, who had flashlights looked for it. One of the waitstaff found it!
Re: EARRINGS
Have 3 piercings, two in the usual space, and one a bit above on the left ear. I save those one-of earrings to wear there.
Not for everyone I know...

Was about 2 weeks ago when I realized my right stud earring was no longer in my ear. Know it wasn't from a mask because I haven't worn one since May 31 at the ice rink. No longer needed to wear 1 after that date.
Gold? I doubt it because I don't think I paid over $25 for any of my pairs. Now I do West a United States Flag stud in 1 ear on occasion, but I keep a close eye on that one. Never wore it with a mask so it was safe.

WHOOHOO! You go with those earrings!
DH and I shared a set of diamond studs as our wedding gift to each other. We both wear them in our left ear, me above regular piercing, him as his only. MIL said I was a bad influence...
Best wishes to You, Cindy, and the Gang.

So sorry about that. I haven't worn earrings since the beginning of this because of wearing masks. I don't want to lose one (or both!)
If it had happened to you today, I would say, check your bra.
But I know it happened yesterday, so there's that....
Anyways, happy birthday?!

Sorry about your earring!
I lost one once. It was a square cut citrine, rather big, real gold, omega back. I retraced my steps over & over, but no luck. I finally had the other one made into a pendant. (Which I don't wear very often!)

I enjoyed reading your story about your MIL. My story is kinda like yours in that respect. My wife and her mother always talked about jewelry when we were together. So 1 day, I was 62 at the time, I decided to get both ears pierced.
Didn't say a word to my wife, just went and had it done. I even had 2 piercings in my right ear. My wife noticed and was surprised, asked me why. I told her what I said above, that way I can join the jewelry conversations.
My mother-in-law was, not sure of what she was, but? She wouldn't even talk to me for several months, all because of an older guy getting his ears pierced.
Must be a MIL thing, eh? 😎

Oh my goodness ! the same thing happened to me this past Wednesday. I went out to run a few errands, had my glasses on, mask of course. I went to the grocery store and stopped to gas up my car, got back home and noticed my right earring was missing. I love my hoop earrings. I searched my car and the ground area around my car, no earring. I was just devastated, I searched several times, thought maybe it fell in my purse but no. I reviewed my ring doorbell video and saw that I had the earring on when I left but it was missing when I came back in. I bought a new pair of similiar earrings today !

So did your getting your ears pieced cause an added bonus? That your mother-in-law didn't talk to you for awhile?
