I am sorry to hear you lost a nice earring. You may want to check inside your car. I have found more than one that slipped off and fallen without my even noticing with the mask issues. I have started checking my earrings as soon as I put on a mask or take one off.

Well, I just sent my hearing aid flying.

I had a Doctor's appointment earlier today. And of course I had to wear a mask. When I exited the building I took off my mask, and my hearing aid went flying across the parking lot.

At least you found it! Hearing aids are really expensive and if I have to loose anything, I'd rather loose an earring! I don't have any one earring that costs anywhere near what the hearing aid costs! I have stopped wearing my good earrings as I don't want to take the chance of loosing one. To much stuff going on behind my ears. Glasses, hearing aid, mask.

I just bought the hearing aids a month ago. My older hearing aids were still going strong. But the audiologist let me try a new model. What a difference in the quality. So of course I went for the new and improved.

Now if I can only keep them in my ears.

Enufstuff, thank you! I will follow up with Fire Mountain Gems and see if I can find some of those silicone backs. I have every other kind of backs imaginable, for different kinds/sizes of earrings, but the silicone backs are the only ones that are almost invisible when used with a hook.

All I see when we are out are masks not earrings. Hard to get out of the habit of wearing them I know, me too. But, my hoops stay in their jewelry box though it completes my look - haha. No, my mask completes my look now.

I feel your pain. I stopped wearing earrings at the beginning of the mask mandates, and have only had them on three times since they stopped the mandate in my area.

I knew I was going to loose earrings, so I just gave up.

I have lost an earring twice to pairs that were 14k gold and gifts from my mom. I was so upset and searched forever for them, but never to be found (this was way pre pandemic).They weren't horribly expensive, but sentimental to me, and I hate that I lost them.

Someone should sue the person or people responsible for the mask mandate that made one lose their earring or hearing aid. I'm being sarcastic, but reading about petty lawsuits all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if someone did sue. I'm sure there is lawyer somewhere who would take over such a lawsuit.
