Updating Driver's License to "REAL ID??" - Page 6

@Lucky Charm I had sort of the same problem when I renewed my drivers license last year, except it was my birth certificate. Now, mind you, this was the only one my mother ever had--it got me into school, it got me my marriage license, etc. but this time the DMV said it was a "hospital issued" certificate, not the "state issued" one. So I had to get an official state issued one. At the time, I went ahead and just got a "regular" license, because it was about to expire.

When the state issued birth certificate arrived, my first name was spelled incorrectly. There are two common spellings of my name...one shorter, one longer. My mother always intended the longer version, and it's what I've used all my life.

I haven't tried to get a Real ID with this birth certificate, but I'm wondering if it will cause a problem with the different spelling. I find it all a bit ridiculous anyway--I've lived in this state since 1962, had a drivers license for many, many years, been at the same address for 47 years and all my OTHER documentation was fine.I'll eventually go back and try to get the Real ID, but I'm not in any hurry.
