I had posted how things dont last anymore (and others agreed), so I just wanted to come back and say what was wrong with our "3 year old Whirlpool refridgerator" was the motor. To repair it was 280 dollars. (ouch)
I then looked it up and they have the (little) motors on Amazon for 13 dollars (on up), but most are very inexpensive. I watched the guy do it and I could have done it had I known how (or what was wrong).
I think everyone should go take classes on how to fix things. We could all save money.lol. (I also looked online where there are sites that guide you how to fix it too, had we known "what" was wrong to begin with).
Anyway, the guy took all of "4" minutes (yes I timed him) to replace this inexpensive part. So we paid for his labor (knowledge) basically, as is usually the case.
PS I asked him if it was made in the USA and he said yes but who knows where the parts come from :-)
