Today I went to PetSmart and adopted a beautiful male kitten. He seemed very scared meowing constantly. When I got him home he was pawing at the dishwasher meowing. While having my eyes on him at all times I went to the car to get all the supplies I bought for him. I went to fill his bowl with water and he was still pawing the dishwasher. I turned my back for a second to put the bowl down and he disappeared. I heard him meowing behind me but couldn't figure out where he was. The meowing stopped and I can't find him anywhere. Any ideas of how I can get him to come out of hiding? I have called his name, rustled the bag of kitten food and looked high and low. I know that when kittens are scared they hide but he's a pretty good hider. I've had 3 cats and none of them ever hid like this one. I can't imagine that he got out since he was on the far side of the kitchen and on the opposite side of the back door. If this cat is really lost I doubt I can ever adopt another kitten because I'd be considered negligent.
