A few months ago I posted for advice on my son possible skipping a grade.
The final decision is, even though he would have been accepted for advancement, to let him have his 8th grade year and all the special events that go along with it.
His school is adding a gifted program next year which he qualifies for. I am hoping that this new program will be enough of a change to keep him from being bored!
I have expressed my concerns to some key people about the "disconnect" between the teachers and my son (compared to how wonderful and tuned in they were to his older brother) and the lack of communication about problems with homework.
Still waitin on the final results of the testing for learning disabilities, but it is looking like there are none.
We will have to find ways to motivate this kid through his last year of middle school before he goes to the military academy!
Thanks for all the advice when I asked.
