Re: Update on my POW bracelet and where it will be headed..

I am about to log off for the night but wanted to thank each and everyone of you.  I have it ready to let UPS package it Monday- with my direction of course- and it will be off to Arlington, VA.

The young man's name is 1Lt. James Huard from Deerborne, Michigan.. he was posthumously promoted to Captain...

Thanks again, we couldn't be more honored or happy that this will be sent all over for other's to see and learn more about VietNam..

Night all!!!!!!  Heart

I just heard back from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and they want to use the bracelet I've got in their traveling exhibition.  I am so happy to know it will be taken care of and respected- will get it off to them next week...

Oh my goodness, how wonderful.  I remember when I was in elementary school some of the kids had the bracelets and if I remember correctly that when they were notified of the soldiers return you were to send the bracelet to them.  What an honor.  How long have you had the bracelet.

@sunshine 919, thank you.  I've had the bracelet since the early 70's..  it's been in my jewelry box all these years.  I never thought to toss it out, I felt that would be so disrespectful.  I read where people are actually selling them on Ebay, how tacky is that?

And I forgot last night......  My husband says thank you for thanking him for his service.

I find it funny, as I stated in another thread a few weeks ago, my husband was on an aircraft carrier and did the radar on the F4 fighter jets... the young man that I've got the bracelet was an F4 fighter pilot..  and get this, my first husband (was with him when I got the bracelet) was in the Air Force as an air traffic controller in Ton Sanut Vietnam.  Just find it odd it's all aviation..

Re: Update on my POW bracelet and where it will be headed..

An update:  I just received an email from the curator and they have the bracelet.  Tell ya, seems kind of hokey but it was emotional handing it to someone to pack and actually send it.

We'll be keeping a look out for and if the traveling exhibition comes our way.

Thanks everyone for being so interested in this and our history..  God Bless the USA and all who gave their lives and for those serving now.
