The mother of the baby, my grand niece, is still missing. She has not called to speak to her mother or to see her child. It has been over three weeks now since DYFS took the baby from her. She is in violation of the court order to get 80 hours of rehab. We are very worried about her. We think there are people who know where she is, but they are not disclosing. I'm afraid they are "friends" who are also addicts.
However, the good news is that her mother, the baby's grandmother, has spoken to my niece and said that she has legal custody of the baby, that she loves him very much and he is "doing great." She indicated she has three children to raise now (she also has two young girls from her second marriage, I believe she is in her mid-40's (started young).
