I know that this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things given the events of this past weekend but I wanted to give an update on BiBi and ask a question or two or maybe even to get some encouragement.
BiBi still has her stitches in and she's been doing great. She's frustrated that she can't bathe herself due to the collar she is wearing. She also will not let you touch her side where the stitches are. If I take the collar off she will go right to the spot with the stitches. So far they've remained intact. She is still eating and sleeping and acting normally (running around, getting into everything) but I'm beginning to wonder if the cancer is coming back or if she's just miserable because she is still wearing the collar and stitches and can't take care of herself by bathing. Is this normal behavior? The vet told me that he wants to see her soon of course to take the stitches out and check for lumps. Good news is that I haven't felt any lumps! Another question is how else will I know if the cancer comes back? Will it be lumps or will I have any other way of knowing. BiBi's vet says he wants to continue to check her for lumps and I am also supposed to do that. I was wondering if anyone had any tips I could use to possibly make her feel a little more comfortable besides bathing her which is not an option due to stitches.
