@SoftRain wrote:@occasionalrain, why is their relationship inappropriate? Is it due to breaking royal protocol? I also don't understand using the word "affair" since they are both single. Maybe he has actually come to his senses by choosing a woman he wants and not one chosen for him....or one that others may find "appropriate" for him. If this relationship does move forward, I wish them nothing but the best. I feel for he and his brother for losing their dear mother so young. He deserves to find happiness on his terms.
Don't know why ..but i am really rooting for these guys !!

I believe 2018 will be a big year for the Royal family.
The Queen may give up her throne since she's been giving Prince Charles more of her responsibilities.
The birth of William and Catherine's third child.
Strong possibility of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage.

I think they might just possibly be already (privately) engaged. I was in a discussion yesterday with some women I didn't know well, and one of them said the Queen is very much against this marriage. I thought the opposite. I know she seems to be close to these boys. Has anyone heard anything about her opposing this engagement?

It's inappropriate because she's divorced, an actress, and doesn't have a clue how to dress. Have you seen her big short shorts, it's been her personal style.
Who in the royal family isn't divorced or have had affairs or have a clue how to dress? Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, princess Margaret, and all their kids. Do I need to go on?

I read an artice yesterdy that Meghan is currently getting her dogs ready (additional vaccinations, disease testing, etc.) to go to the UK.
I've also read several articles that said the Queen was happy that Harry found love, finally.

Who ever heard of Markle before her involvement with Harry. She's an opportunist, married a producer to further her career, lasted only two years. She's closing in on 40, been in a series not even network that I believe is ending after next season. She is far from an A list celebrity. If she marries Harry and divorces after a couple of years, she'll have her choice of roles and can name her price. Even an engagement that ends before marriage will provide a career she would never have had otherwise.

I hope I never become so cynical about people and situations that I know absolutely nothing about.

Oh puleeze ..... it's a RELATIONSHIP, not an "affair" ..... not like Charles had when currently married to Diana.
Divorced Charles married divorced Camilla, both of them adulterers, so the being "divorced" precedent was made years ago.
Meghan's casual dress isn't the issue, at all for her life and lifestyles .... it's who she is as a person, and how she and Harry get along. I'm sure she knows how to dress for more formal occasions.
Honestly, I don't think it even matters what any of the other royals think ..... Harry should do as he "damm" well pleases!

If I didn't know someone well, I certainly wouldn't assume they knew what the queen's opinion is ... about anything!
