In case anybody was wondering, here is the latest on my father.
As I posted last week, my dad had pneumonia. He called me at work to go and pick up his medicine on my way home. So I did. I went up to the counter and told the woman on the other side, that I was there to pick up a prescription for my father, and I gave her his name. They handed me a bottle of liquid, which I paid for, and proceeded to go to my dad's house and give him his medicine.
His doctor s...aw him today to see how he was doing. He went into the exam room, while I waited in the waiting room. About ten minutes later, his doctor comes storming out saying, "What do you mean he has only been taking the liquid medicine?! I called in TWO prescriptions!"
I told her, "I was only given one, the liquid."
She stormed off, and a few minutes later, her nurse came out and asked me if I was offered the other prescription. I told her exactly what had transpired. The nurse told me that the pharmacy was saying that *I* said, "Oh, it's too expensive. I don't want to get it."
EXCUSE ME?!?! I would NEVER deny my father his medicine. Yes, it cost over $200 for it, but I would have paid for it, NO problem.
The doctor and nurse both reassured me that they knew that I was telling the truth, and that they knew that the pharmacy was lying. In fact, his doctor said that she was going to call and register a complaint with the State Pharmacy board.
Me? I am going to write a scathing letter to the head of the chain drugstore/pharmacy, and let them know in no uncertain terms, that they messed up BIG time, and that I will NEVER use them again.
You should have seen my dad's doctor. She was beyond livid. (Understandably so) I'm pizzed too. You don't muck around when it comes to pneumonia and the elderly. It can easily KILL them. It's only by the grace of God that my dad did not end up in the hospital, or worse.
The doctor called in the prescription again, this time to Costco (my dad and I aren't members there), and we went straight there after we left his doctor's office and got his antibiotics. The medicine that he needed was Levofloxacin.
Now that he does have ALL of his medicine, hopefully he'll get better now.
I've tried to create a new account, but for whatever reason, it was a no go. I'm just going to have to call and see if they can unlock me. But I have other things to do first, like writing that letter.
Again, thank-you for posting for me. It means so much.
Sincerely,
Yuban3/Purrs365
