Why would anyone release pictures of this little boy?

How horrific.
I can't even imagine returning home from vacation with one less child.
It's heartbreaking.

Lifeguard reports the boy was wading in water, 10 feet from the shoreline.

No details about where; only that 5 gators were destroyed in the search
I don't understand the need to bring all of this sadness to the board. We all have access to the news. It's kind of like the people at work who can't wait to tell everyone about the horrible accident that happened worlds away. Why do we cry for people we don't know?. Horrible, crazy stuff happens day in and day out all over the world. Because of the Internet we are forced to see everything happening all over the world where in the olden days it was mostly local news we would hear about.

This is a reputable source for information. However, the story contradicts itself. In one instance (update) they indicate the child was xxx number of feet away from the shore line. Further down into the story it says the child was near the shoreline ~ WITH RESPECT TO WHERE HE WAS PLAYING. ANOTHER TERM IS FROLIC......

Those who are severely adversely affected by the daily news need to be sure they are not exposed to it. That does not mean they get to decide what is posted or broadcast, it means they should not be *anywhere* online reading, or turn in the TV from 5-7 pm or 11-12 pm. Ever.
Do not visit ANY website. Do not EVER watch ANY news. Do not read newspapers. Then...MAYBE...you will be "safe."
