With so much arthritis, it takes me over an hour to get my bones moving. Just so painful.......

I've never understood why getting up early (to me, in the middle of the night) and immediately "getting to it" is so admired. It's actually not good for one's health. Sleeping too long and not being active is not good either. As with all things, we should try for a happy medium.

That is all true but for myself I choose to do things like hitting Wal-mart at 6:00 to 6:30 am. instead of with the rest of the country 12 hours later ect..... My days and nights are the same as others I just choose to do things in a different time frame. Some stores of course are not open but that can be a blessing to my pocket book. I go to work early but I leave an my office about an hour or more before others. It works for me.

I wake up at different times and this weekend with the time change really threw me off. I am slow moving and need my coffee first thing. ![]()

I don't mind waking up early, but I like to ease into the day. I like to relax with a cup of coffee and watch the news and see what's happening.
I like to go to the health club later in the morning and then maybe the grocery store. I'll come home and shower and get some work done. By that time, my daughter and husband get home and I'm getting dinner ready.

I don't for a minute believe that getting up early is bad for one's health. Beginning to do heavy exercise too soon, and without some fuel in the body is not good, but getting up, and beginning the daily routine (whatever that may be) early rather than being leisurely is no health risk.
Lack of sleep may increase health risk issues, but simply rising early and getting moving for the day does not.

Most definitely a slow moving morning. It's really cold and with time change, my usual 6-6:30AM wake up time, it's still dark. I can't get going w/o my cup of joe, either.
It'll take me several days to adjust to new time and then get back on schedule.

If I need to go to the grocery store, I am up and at 'em much earlier than usual. I like to be in the store by 8:30, pick up breakfast, and be home in time to watch our usual morning game shows.
The days of me getting up early to clean on this house are long gone. My need for "deep cleaning" is gone, and it's not coming back. I don't want it to come back, period; I lowered my standards a long time ago. There is no filth or nasty smell in this house, my kitchen and bathrooms are very clean, so all is good.
I used to be a clean freak; spend my entire day cleaning one area to the point there wasn't a speck of dirt to be found in that room when I was done. To my family the room looked exactly like it did when they left that morning, but I knew every piece of furniture had been moved, walls dusted, furniture dusted and vacuumed, woodwork wiped by hand, drapes fluffed and refreshed in the dryer, floor mopped and everything put back together. I eventually realized what I had spent all day doing, mattered only to me. I also realized I was feeding my OCD tendencies to do this stuff, because deep down I knew I could live quite well in this house without wasting all that effort. So I quit doing it, and just live peacefully in this house every day.
