Up and at it, or slow moving in the morning?

Which best describes you?

I'm generally moving as soon as my feet hit the floor. I'm a relatively early riser, love morning, and like to get a whole list of things done before I even sit down for some breakfast.

My husband is just the opposite. Regardless of what time he gets up (he works second shift), he moves at a snails pace. He comes alive late into the night.

Re: Up and at it, or slow moving in the morning?

I've never been one to leap out of bed as soon as my eyes open in the morning.

I see no need to rushrushrush to do everything within the first twenty minutes that I am awake.

I like to take time to savor the quiet before my day actually starts.

@Mominohio

I'm like your husband.  Doesn't matter how much sleep I get, I'm slooooow to wake up and get moving in the morning.  Even once I'm up and moving, my brain doesn't "wake up" for another hour lol.  Mr. Shoes has always been just like you - he's bright-eyed and bushy tailed early every morning.  I sometimes just want to smack him, ha ha!

I so wish I were like you!  But alas I'm exactly like your husband.  Even being retired now I still can't become a morning person.  If I try to be then my whole day becomes off kilter for me!  Not a good feeling.  LOL

On average I am up and at it, I like to get the majority of my chores done or paying of the bills before the sun rises, then I can spend the rest of the day at my leisure.

But, there are the rare mornings that no matter what I do I just cannot get moving, on those days I feel like I have wasted the day away, and I actually feel lazyt!

I wake up very early, every morning, usually between 4:30 and 5:30, sometimes earlier. Computer, fold laundry, etc., then In the shower at 6:45. Monday-Friday I walk two miles, starting at 8:00 so I leave our house at 7:50 to do that.

On the opposite end though, I fizzle out early at night and usually go to bed at 9:00.

I am very much an early person.  I always have been.  My energy level is like a downhill ski slope. I start out on top and it's down hill from there.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I could have written your post @gidgetgh.  Perfect analogy -- a "downhill ski slope", lol.

I like to take advantage of my very high energy in the a.m. and get as much done as possible. My energy wanes as the day goes on. By  6 p.m., I'm in full relaxation mode.

Re: Up and at it, or slow moving in the morning?

Awake without the alarm seven days a week between 3:00 and 3:30 am within 10 minutes after gulping down a ton of ice cold water carry my one cup of coffee for the day to my exercise bike.  Bike and read for 2.5 hours daily all the while dreaming of dinner and dessert!!   My mornings since the 80's would not know what to do with my time if I ran out of books or bikes no longer were sold.

Re: Up and at it, or slow moving in the morning?

I think I adapt to the needs of the day, though I need to know that all the basic things of living are taken care of around the house.  Sometimes I have all day to take care of that, sometimes I have to plan more strategically.

More specific to your question, MIO, I'm generally up early, though I have night owl tendencies, too, so I guess you could say I'm constantly trying to get the ends to meet!  I'm rarely a slow mover, though I have learned to take the time to reflect and meditate.

I get up at about 4AM-ish.  I have a routine in the morning so I am Up and Adam. Getting all my birds up and taken care of, feeding both dogs etc.... Working on a hobby I have for a couple of hours...., trying to get out on my daily walk at about 9AM or so.   It is pretty much the same routine everyday.

I start to wind down  early in the afternoon... dinner before 5PM and in bed watching TV for a couple of hours by 8PM.  Usually unless there is a show I want to watch at 10Pm, I am lights out at 9pm.
