Haven't paid a lot of attention to the details on this trial.  How did this stalker person even know what hotel, she was staying in to start with?

@KathyPet I read somewhere - on one of these threads - that he knew that Erin Andrew's "team" of reporters and camera people, etc. always stayed at a Marriott wherever they traveled.  So that narrowed down his search considerably.

I think people can find out your room number in a variety of ways. If I travel alone I tell the front desk to never give out my room number as no one should be asking if I am not expecting anyone.

Once in Miami, the cabbie I just got dropped off at the hotel in his cab, parked his car, waited in his cab, then came into the hotel and asked for my room number right after I checked in. You see, my mistake was that I paid my cab bill with a credit card and he had my name and used it to get my room number. Luckily the front desk woman was suspicious and called my room to tell me he wanted my room number. He did not get my room number as hotel security walked him out. I have never paid for a cab again with my credit card. I always pay cash ever since!

Why do hotel rooms need peep holes anyway?

Because just like your house, people can break in or run a scam and try to get in. Violence can happen anywhere, even in your hotel room.

Now is the time to update and train for situations like this. Hotel employees probably have no idea how sick some people are.

I've worked in a hotel and we had very strict policy of not giving out room numbers or keys. We even asked for ID when we gave out keys and if you were locked out of the room, we tried our best to make sure you were the person staying in room. We didn't even give out information to family members and would call the guest if someone was asking for them or about them. Some hotels have very strict policies, some probably are more lax.

@segrl21 I have the same experience. We have the same procedures.
