My Dad served in the US Army and was severely injured in war and awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a far more admirable person than that guy. It's about personal integrity and moral courage.

Actually, the best possible outcome to this situation is if Putin realizes he's lost the war, decimated Russia in the process and the world, including his own people, have turned against him. I can't see how a man who is used to having all that power living out the rest of his life as a disgraced "former" leader potentially facing jail time for warm crimes. Might he get backed into a corner with absolutely no way out and decide to kill himself? We can only hope. My fear is if he decides to go out in a blaze of glory he'll try to take the rest of us with him.

@Drythe I hate to say or even think about this but it sounds like the whole world being annihilated if a full blown out nuclear war begins....scary stuff and the powers that be are taking this into consideration.

I've been praying for the people🙏🏼 In Ukraine 🇺🇦.. I cried because my heart 💔breaks to watch them suffer especially the children and babies! Newborns need medical care in dreadful conditions. Mothers are doing the best they can, can you imagine. I am overwhelmed with empathy. I agree with not going hotheaded and sending bombs to start world war 3!!! I've read each review here. Some very intelligent answers. Putin is not somebody to mess with. It takes a group of qualifies educated minds that have years of intellectual experience of such matters to figure such CRAZY out! His troops are failing him, his people are turning on him, his leaders are too. Evidently this is fuel for him, it's scary if you ask me. But what do I know. I'm sure he still has his a few close cronies, no doubt. All I have left to say because I'm a mere mortal, a working class citizen, retired, on social security, is that he is a very dangerous and evil man with power and he still has military that obeys his orders.

@TW I think the world has been doing many things, heifer among them 'many countries coalescing as a group which has crashed the Russian economy. Also, refugees fro. The Ukraine are being accepted in other countries. Huge donations of government monies and weapons have poured into Ukraine.

I am by no means a military tactician, but I believe the world is not sitting idle and I wonder what it is you want the world to do right now? What action would stop the Russians where they are and turn them around.?

@Etoile308 Don't you remember how Patton wanted to go after the Russians and all the things he said about them, and the party--with the toast from one to another?

Just want to make sure I'm understanding how this incident ended.

At some point, with the training building burning and the Russians still shelling the whole power plant, the Ukraine army surrendered. The Russians entered the power plant management office, pointed their guns at the people there and said "It's now OK to put the fire out and do what you need to in order to keep the reactors safe."

Not like a movie ending but far better than other possibilities we discussed here. Am I missing anything?
