I took Bactrim for 10 days for a UTI (without a culture). 6 days after finishing the Bactrim I still wasn't feeling right and saw another doctor who prescribed CIPRO. Three days into Cipro I was feeling normal until that evening when the pain returned, as it did the next evening. I spoke with my doctor and she said the culture was normal and maybe I don't have a UTI or it could be that the time between the two medications wasn't enough and could alter the test????? I told her that on both evenings I had two glasses of wine with my dinner. She didn't think that would have caused the problem and told me to continue the Cipro (I have 4 left) and if in two weeks I still have the problem to come in. Naturally, I'll be off the booze until then. I have read that the Cipro stays in your system for about two weeks after you stop taking them.?????
I'm very confused. Has anyone had any similar situation?
