"We're here to help" - yeah, right!!! ![]()
I've spent the last hour trying to reach a person. When I finally did, that person couldn't help me and directed me to an online form. Now that form is not letting me type in the recipient's last name - saying it is "invalid." It's MY last name too! I'm on hold for techincal support - "current wait time is 43 minutes." ![]()

@beach-mom, that's awful! So much for our USPS huh? I ordered, via Amazon, a couple nightgowns.. One got here... the other well it's some where out there.. the company sent another one- 2 DAY DELIVERY WHICH WAS TO BE HERE LAST SATURDAY... LOL guess what NOPE! Like you, I'm waiting too.... if they're that darn busy, hire more people or something... Good Luck with your problem..

I suspect we're in for a whole lot of delivery pain and I'm thinking it won't be consistent at all.
I'm a financial news junkie and one of the reports I listened to a few hours ago was about trucking. Seems prices are about to go up because the companies are having trouble hiring truckers and are going to try increasing salaries to entice newcomers which will get passed on to the rest of us.
I assume theywere talking about some months from now, but there's no question the whole delivery system is on overwhelm. The USPS person for my neighbor has just under 900 addresses to cover. No wonder we pretty much get our mail after dark on my street!

The USPS website can be very frustrating! I use "Click n Ship" for my personal shipping, but prefer Paypal's label but now Paypal has decided to "update" a very successful format where everything is on one page. Now you have to stop and scroll..... sure, let's change it to something that requires yet another movement.....
I'm so sorry.... what exactly are you trying to do? Maybe we can help?

Just for grins, I visited the USPS.com website.
Clicked on Forms & Publications at the bottom of the page.
All the forms on USPS.com are PDF files (i.e. print out/hand write).
I would just go to the post office in person to complete the transaction.
If you had questions, they can answer right then & there.
One & Done.

I sent a Christmas package to my friend in NC., and I tracked it so I could tell her when to look for it. Long story short, it made it to her post office ,but it took them 6 days to find it, and then
they said it was in a box , but they couldn't find the key. My gift to her turned into a problem
with a lot of frustration, because if she hadn't raised a fuss, it would still be in that box. And
of course no apology was given.

That's so sweet! I talked to our local branch, and there is nothing they can do. They do not guarantee arrival of priority mail packages - just express mail.
But all may not be lost! DS goes to college a long way away. I sent a care package full of goodies (before finals) priority mail last Monday. The estimated delivery date was Thursday. He didn't get it. I picked him up at the airport this afternoon, and after being home about 1/2 hour, he got an e-mail saying his package was ready for pickup in the college post office. The note also said they would not be forwarding any packages because of the holiday season and the school being closed for winter break. Students could get their packages when they return in January. Since there were cookies in the package, and I spent some money on a few other things, I thought I could file a claim and at least get my postage back.
So I went online. After finding out our last name is "invalid," I tried to call customer service for technical problems. There was a 43 minute wait. I put the phone on speaker. After about 1/2 hour the music stopped, I got excited, and I was disconnected! AARGH!
So I called the branch and found out they wouldn't accept the claim anyway.
Today is the last day the college is open, so apparently the mail room is staying open a little later. DS e-mailed them and told them there were cookies and candy in the package. They e-mailed right back and said they would send the package back to me! We'll see if I get it! ![]()

You need to call your local post office. Google it. Save this number. This has saved me many times. Last month, I was tracking a package and it said 'Delivered/In Mailbox' at 8 pm on a Monday. I went downstairs and it was not there.
I called my local post office only a half hour since it stated 'Delivered' and the manager sent the carrier back out to look for it. Lo and behold it was delivered to the building next door. Without that number I would of never gotten my package. I don't bother calling the number online. I have the names and number of the people at my local post office and they know who I am. Don't mess with my packages!!!

oh i just read through your other posts. Sadly depends on what post office you use to mail it.
I will say since I've been giving my packages DIRECTLY to my postal carrier they have been 2 days with priority. (Going from Tampa to Princeton, NJ).
Today I was talking to our carrier, she said there are over 100 pallets of packages being sorted (some have been there over a week) at our local facility. I told her I was waiting for a package from Apple to send as a gift. Good Luck she said! I checked with Apple it was shipped USPS and would be delivered by 12/21...yikes, I ordered it last week! (Didn't feel like driving over 1.5 hours to local Apple store - so much for that idea!).
Returned package - Had that experience when I accidentally put STREET vs. DRIVE on a package! Took almost 2 weeks to get back to me.
Guess I'm pretty spoiled by Amazon quick delivery.
Enjoy your son and his visit!

I'm feeling your "pain" with being on hold! I called SW airlines at 9:45 pm (eastern) and the recording asked me if I'd like a "call back" in 18 minutes. Sure, well the recorder called me back at 9:57 only to be PUT ON HOLD and still as of 11:00 PM I'm still holding to speak to someone! The recording keeps telling me they "appreciate my patience and someone will be with me as soon as possible". Hmmm could be into the wee hours of the morning i see -- just hate to hang up needing to redeem a voucher. Of course, I realize its holiday travel time BUT I'm certainly not used to this with SW.
Its just not USPS, I hope this recording doesn't transfer me and hang up! Cuz' thank god for speaker phones I'm in for the long haul I see!
