Re: USPS adding surcharge for Holiday season

@Lostandscared I just did a test on the Macy's mobile site(not app) with two sherpa throws. It shows free standard shipping for me.

Maybe you could call their customer service

Re: USPS adding surcharge for Holiday season

I knew it was coming some time in October  Thanks for the heads up. I only have one package to mail,  I quickly got it wrapped and will take it to the post office this afternoon.

I was going to order two throw blankets at macys, when i got to checkout, shipping was free... but they wanted to add a 32.00 surcharge ! The throws were only 30.00....I was lucky and the store had them in stock,  I picked them up.

I found a similar situation at Kohls too....they had some really cute kitchen towels but the shipping was outrageous The two towels were $8.39 and the shipping was $8.95 (more than the cost of the item!)----SMH! I decided I'd rather pay for gas and do the curbside pickup...SMH!!!

@Lostandscared   ????  Did you select some type of expedited shipping?

No , it was regular shipping, i tried 2 times thinking i did something wrong. They were just sherp20210927_154222 (5).jpga throws, very light.

Re: USPS adding surcharge for Holiday season

Don't know why it got deleted, but i did call customer service at the store, and they said that the carrier charged a surcharge on shipping the items, not the store. So i guess it was UPS.

@Lostandscared  Wow.  A good reminder for all of us to really check the amount of the order!!

I have never seen anything like that-I know some stores charge shipping based on the amount of the purchase but this looks like the shipper is charging, not Macy's.

Good luck.

Any chance to get more money from us, they'll do it. Remember who runs the USPS.

That's a first for me.  Haven't seen anything like that--yet.  But I don't buy from a lot of online retailers.

I'm curious.  Did you check the little circled "i" to see if it explained the surcharge in more detail?
