I was going to order two throw blankets at macys, when i got to checkout, shipping was free... but they wanted to add a 32.00 surcharge ! The throws were only 30.00....I was lucky and the store had them in stock,  I picked them up.

@Lostandscared   ????  Did you select some type of expedited shipping?

No , it was regular shipping, i tried 2 times thinking i did something wrong. They were just sherp20210927_154222 (5).jpga throws, very light.

That's a first for me.  Haven't seen anything like that--yet.  But I don't buy from a lot of online retailers.

I'm curious.  Did you check the little circled "i" to see if it explained the surcharge in more detail?

I called store, said it was shipper who decides when to add a surcharge. The sherpa throws were very light, less than a pair of jeans would be.....but because it is a "blanket" they add for it i guess.

Re: USPS adding surcharge for Holiday season

We only get mail once or twice a week anyway...if we are lucky....What ticks  me off is ordering something from a site and seeing it will be shipped by UPS....nope! It gets shipped by them, then they give it to USPS (aka the black hole) for actual delivery.....and that adds another 4-6 days while it sits in the usps facility...in my city.
