They don't pay them enough for the lifting and stuff they do. Geesh and in this day and age who sends their workers out in trucks with doors open in 100 degree plus weather. Most of the trucks that come here have no air conditioning or heat. It's archaic and cruel. Half the time I get stuff in hot weather it ruined. I have learned not to order candy or certain food items this time of year if it comes ups. Also, even make up got so hot it oozed out of sealed jar. What a waste!!! Perricone had to replace these items and I am sure they collect from ups or somewhere!

The son of a friend works within the local hub and it is hard work. Lots of pressure.
My son who recently retired from UPS would agree with you and he says it is harder now than when he started. So many just can't do all the work required in the time frame the company expects. The best part of the job for my son was getting to interact with all the great people he met, being the extrovert hs is.

My son who retired from UPS recently said they are supposed to install air conditioning soon. But he also added that with all the stops and starts it probably won't help much unless they have sufficient distances between their deliveries. They not only left their doors open hoping for some relief but because it was quicker to hop on and off their trucks when the deliveries were close. They are closely watched and timed.but in the end he thought he received a good pay for a job well done. There is never any relief for those who work in the hubs.

It is unbelievable that they have no AC in their trucks. I guess I never really thought about it. I did hear this a few days ago. I am sure this company makes a lot of money, they need to understand it is the drivers and whse people who make this company. Give them what they want..

UPS does pay full time employees well. They have a very powerful union and full time job slots are protected. Very difficult to gain an entry in to a full time driver job. The majority of the drivers are part time. And yes, part of the negotiations are the air conditioning in trucks.

@songbird. The company announced some time ago that they'd be adding AC to trucks.
According to news reports, the dispute is over pay increases for the part-time employers,
