UPS Driver Honored By Neighborhood

Anthony Gaskin, an "unassuming" man, always ready with a wave and a smile for residents as he brings them the packages they’ve been anxiously awaiting.

On Tuesday, residents in Midlothian, Virginia decided to let him know how much he meant to them with an amazing turnout of people lining the road honking horns, holding signs, and cheering the delivery man on.

Arriving on bikes, on foot, and in more than 75 cars, hundreds of Hallsley residents lined the road and waited for Anthony to turn the corner.

"Sometimes he is the only outside face we see during the day. We appreciate his hard work and dedication during the pandemic, which delivered food, supplies, and even holiday gifts to a high-risk family.”

Anthony was given Christmas cards filled with gift cards and cash.

"Thanks for all you do Anthony!”

Anthony brought to tears.

That was nice.  I have to say that every UPS driver I have ever had deliver something to my house was very courteous.  And the people who work at the UPS Stores are equally as courteous and nice.

That is really such a touching story.

Thank you for that @Foxxee

That was outstanding.  The neighborhood must order a lot of stuff; I wouldn't even recognize the UPS driver in my area.

Very touching and heartwarming story. I had a little card and cash ready for mine this year but they've had so many contractors delivering this year that I've not seen "my guy". These delivery people work so hard all through the year and have gone into overdrive this year with so many online orders. I surely appreciate them all. Thank you for sharing this feel-good story.

He seems very touched!  My UPS person has been a temporary for a month. Delivering in U-haul trucks. My regular guy always thanks me for meeting him in the driveway to help carry or drop off to make a faster delivery. I have a long driveway. He said very few customers come out to help. They  all appreciate a bottle of cold water in the summer.  I am home and don't mind.

Re: UPS Driver Honored By Neighborhood

We haven't had a regular UPS driver in many years, and we would have no possible clue as to what time they would arrive.

Very nice!

I don't know my UPS delivery person but I know my mail carrier and he's been great!  I know he's just doing his job when he picks up packages from my front porch when I'm shipping but he's always very upbeat and friendly!

I gave him an Amazon gift card yesterday expressing my appreciation for his hard work.
