Forget it terrier. You are misrepresenting what I am saying for what ever reason.

I am not blaming her, I am questioning why she felt she could not leave a man she was not married to and then go ahead with the wedding.
Maybe he told her - NO ONE leaves Ray Rice...you can't leave until I'm through with you. Maybe she was frightened to anger him again by pressing charges.
Maybe her family told her she must have been asking for it - taunting him, nagging at him until he couldn't take it anymore. Maybe they told her she needed to become a better GF and wife to make him happy.
Maybe her friends told her she shouldn't walk away from being the wife of a star...she needed to better control her nagging and her anger. She was lucky to have him and she needed to get her act together and treat him better. Who did she think she was - angering Ray Rice, football star???
Maybe she thought she could keep him in "control" - he also probably promised NEVER to do anything like that again...showered her with gifts and attention...typical abuser behavior after an incident. He might have said he learned his lesson...he was being punished with a 2 game suspension...he would NEVER touch her again.
All the usual promises of abusers.

And she should be in divorce court. With the real possibility he will not have huge future paychecks, maybe she'll realize, "I promise I'll never hit you again" is BS.
she shouldn't have married him in the first place. the second he raised a hand she should have walked away. she didn't. now it's on her.We will have to disagree. She stayed it is on her now.

If that happens in public, I'd hate to see what happens in their house.
Obviously, he's comfortable enough with that behavior to do it elsewhere.

I cannot imagine any woman having so little self respect.
My husband has never even raised his voice to me.

Sometimes your self respect is whittled away until you have little left.
Sometimes you are tied to the person in ways that make it difficult to tap that little bit of self respect you have so you can leave.
Sometimes you are more scared than that little bit of self respect can get you out the door.

more like football money, endorsement money, front row concert tickets is worth a smack every now and then. for some it has nothing to do with self respect it's about the bling.

I was speaking in generalities about abusive relationships, and from my personal experiences.
You are making assumptions about this case.
We don't know why she married him.
That was what I was wondering about.

"it?" she married him. it is now on her. she was only engaged to him. after the incident she did not have to say "i do." "it" is on her now.
football money, endorsement money, front row concert tickets were worth a smack every now and then. how long will that last now with the ruling. haha
