It is Beyond my comprehension how anyone could ever, ever, ever vandalize a cemetery. I Can't even stand to see a piece of wayward trash on someone's grave. 😡 When I walk the cemetery, I feel as though I am related to and responsible for everybody.

As of early Wednesday morning, a crowdfunding campaign started by Muslim activists had raised over $70,000 in an effort to help repair a vandalized Jewish cemetery near St. Louis, Missouri.
"Muslim Americans stand in solidarity with the Jewish-American community to condemn this horrific act of desecration against the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery," read the crowdfunding campaign's website, which was spearheaded by Muslim-American activists Linda Sarsour and Tarek El-Messidi. "We also extend our deepest condolences to all those who have been affected and to the Jewish community at large."

@Noel7......thank you so much for this thread. I have so wanted to post something about it (did on Mr. Lucky's thread), but was afraid it would get locked if I started a thread on the main forum.
As many of you know, I live in St. Louis County. About 20 minutes from this cemetery. This was such a tragic thing done to the Jewish community and the families that have family buried there. This sad happening has been covered very thoroughly here on all of our news programs all this week. And yes, it showed VP Pence with his shirt sleeves rolled up and helping to clean up. He was in St. Louis County for a different reason, but he was the one that wanted to go to the cemetery.
There was some pretty heavy duty equipment brought in to raise the monuments and get the up right where they belong.
My heart ached for all the families that had loved ones buried in that cemetery....and for all the Jewish community. St. Louis has quite a large Jewish following here and they are wonderful people. I personally know a number of Jews here and have worked for some of them.....
