Some time ago (probably going on a year),l I described a problem I had while driving: my eyes simply didn't focus together. Long story short, I had my eyes checked by a new doctor. All good, no double vision, 20/20.  But the problem of seeing road lines converging continued. I went to a new doctor, who prescribed long distance lenses, but these didn't work.

Finally, I went back to the new man and he prescribed temporary prisms to be added to my lenses. If these work, he told me, we'll make the change permanent in your glasses.

Lo and behold, these do the trick! I gave up driving for months, but now with the prisms, I can resume independent driving. What a treat! No more relying on family to take me to Target or church or the Y.  Such a simple solution to an annoying problem.

Thanks to all of you who responded to my previous post. Just wanted to let you know this happy outcome.

Cheers!

Re: UPDATE ON EYE FOCUS PROBLEM

Oh I'm so glad for you, @zitawins! That's really wonderful you've gotten your independence back. It must be such a relief to have a simple solution that actually works.

Re: UPDATE ON EYE FOCUS PROBLEM

@ECBG  Prisms are commonly used for double vision problems. When my eldest daughter was 16, she started  seeing double. Prompt attention by our opthamalogist resulted in her wearing prism lenses in her glasses for some time. Then, the problem resolved and she doesn't need them now.

Not sure why they work, but I'm so glad they do!
