We have needed good news like this for a long time.  What wonderful young men!  I'm looking forward to how we will honor them.

They were not three Marines.

They were:  Airman Spencer Stone, Oregon National Guard Specialist Alek Skarlatos, and Anthony Sadler, senior at Sacramento State College.  All three are friends and were on vacation together.  They were also aided by British National Chris Norman.

Four brave men who took action and averted a massacre.  One French official said there were approx 500 people on that train, and no way out.   The British man said "either you sit still and die, or you get up and try to do something and die, because once those guys get going they kill everyone."

Alek's stepmother said he is good at assessing and taking action, and she always said she'd trust her life to him.

Thank you for posting this and giving the credit to the right people, Americans and other nationals, whichever branch of the service or just public citizens.

What they all did was amazingly brave and I agree with what the British man said.  There are so many good people in this world; we mustn't ever forget that or let the "bad guys" win.

** I agree, there are many brave good people in this world.  We should hold them as an example to all of us.   Those people on that train were blessed to have them on their train,  As a side note, I wonder if countries will begin posting "air marshall" type individuals on train.  Trains seem like such an easy target, with so many stops and passengers off and on.

Yes, trains are any easy target.  There was a horrible attack where I live a number of years ago (Colin Furgeson).
