Re: Two Things I Can't Find in Any Grocery Store

@SharkE Don't know if you like to cook, but this is the butterscotch topping I make for ice cream sundaes:

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup butter

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp vanilla

Stir brown sugar, cream, butter, and salt in saucepan over low heat until butter is melted.  Bring to a simmer over medium heat and stir for about 3 minutes.  Take off heat and stir in vanilla.  The sauce gets thicker as it cools.

Chocolate milk has been hard to find for a very long time now.  I have none for my daughter in the fridge.  First time in 12 years my fridge has been without it.

Blackberry jam or preserves.  Not that fruit spread stuff.

My brother-in-law found 3 jars for me in PA back in early June and he hasn't seen it since.

Re: Two Things I Can't Find in Any Grocery Store

Butterscotch is big in Canada, @SharkE ,  as well as Indiana.   I've long noticed butterscotch pudding is not well-stocked wherever I've lived in the U.S.   Interesting that the 'butterscotch boycott' does not extend to Indiana!

The English import, P.G. Tips tea is never carried by my supermarket, but luckily I finally found that my Walmart is always well-stocked with it....

We are originally from Western NY state and grew up enjoying Grandma Brown baked beans. We were thrilled when Wegmans opened in our town but sadly, they no longer can get them.  We really miss them😕

@FastDogWalker2  They're no longer in my Wegmans either (SE PA).  I found an article in the Syracuse paper (May 2022) saying they stopped production in 2020 because of the pandemic and haven't yet restarted.  The owner said she's been unable to hire enough people.  Their plant is near Oswego. I also grew up with Grandma Brown's.

Perhaps more canned pumpkin will start to appear in stores once we get a bit further into pumpkin "season."

Re: Two Things I Can't Find in Any Grocery Store

I was at a pharamcy today in a grocery store I don't. normally shop in; they were stacking cans of pumpkin all over one display area; pumpkin pie mix, pumpkin, all the usual suspects....if some can't find it, its probably a little early yet for some stores.
