@DebbieMA Hi Debbie,
So sorry to see that happened. Let us know if you need any info on returning.

If the baking soda does not work hang it outside to air out. After it's dry if it still smells throw it in the wash on pre-soak with 2 cups white vinegar then add 2 more cups to the final rinse. Don't put it in the dryer if it's still on there since it's flammable.
If the vinegar does not work I don't know what to try.
You may have to wash down the inside of your washing machine if it smells like it so when you do other laundry it does not make it all smell like turpentine.
Wipe it down with a cloth soaked in vinegar with a little baking soda. Run a load of hot water through with some vinegar & you could add bleach to your bleach dispenser. Leave your lid open after.

The odors you described are difficult to remove from clothing. You may want to request an exchange if possible.
There are two products you may soak clothing in to remove odors. Enviroklenz (their website has excellent customer service) and its sold on Amazon.
Allens Naturally Stink Out is another product. Their website sells the product as well as Amazon. Helpful customer service on Allen’s site also.

I would not put this shirt in the dryer! Try hanging the shirt outdoors, or in a garage for a day or so to see if that helps. If not, I would contact customer service and return for exchange, or refund.

Some smells just don't come out. I would send it back or call to get info on returning it.
I've called prior to sending somethings back and was surprised when they said not to return it. Why contaminate another truck load of stuff with that smell?
Goodluck with that.

If you don't want to return it then take it to the cleaners and ask them if anything can be done.

I would return the item for a replacement ASAP!! It’s not your problem & you’ve spent too much time trying to rectify it.

@DebbieMA - how do you know the mail truck actually had a spill?
Lots of posters complain about receiving clothing that smells. It could be the top itself.
I would just return it.

@DebbieMA, if I were you and the top is still available I would return it as damaged/defective and get a replacement.
I know from past experience that if I were in your situation even if I did get all the smell out I would still "smell" it every time I wore the top. Sounds silly to smell something that isn't there but the memory of the odor could linger in your mind creating a phantom smell.
