Re: Turn Around, Don't Drown

For the life of me, I have never understood why some drivers think they can make it through flooded roads.  There are so many folks that think their vehicle can make it without knowing what lies ahead of them.  It's a big risk, and a dangerous one at that.  Nothing can be so important that a person needs to go through these kinds of waters.

Yes, don't do it.....turn around and go back to where you were.

If nothing else, the car may stall out and then you become, literally, a sitting duck.

What I really don't understand is why school bus drivers do this.  What are they thinking?  We just had a school bus do this a few weeks ago..so stupid and dangerous.

... This is all too real. Happens way too much. People need to get it!

Definitely they really do make a big deal about this and go on and on when it drives ya nuts just listening to them repeating themselves, but then there are still so

many instances  that could be avoided completely if people would just

get it for a change! Wouldn’t that be nice?

Been there, done that.

I didn't realize the bottom of the swamp grass was 3 feet under water.

Not only do you put yourself (and your car) in danger, but also those who may eventually have to rescue you!

What gets me are the idiots that drive around barricades.  They are obviously there for a reason.

Did you get swept away?

Re: Turn Around, Don't Drown

@OKPrincess, no I didn't get swept away but I killed a 6 week old car with 800 miles on it.  It was brackish water I went into.

The police wouldn't bring their jeep in close to me, so I had to walk out of it and the tow truck had to wait until the water receded to pull the car out.
