It, always, amazes me that anyone would purchase Turbo Tax and then have to download the program online.

I have used Turbo Tax online program for the past 20 years including this current year,  I was NOT required nor forced to purchase Credit Karma when I did my taxes this year.  It is so much more convenient to use the online program then have to purchase it from a vendor, download it, wait for the updates to post before inputting your information.

@Somertime .  Is the online program for a simple 1040 form or does it have additional documents like a Schedule C for those in business?

Re: Turbo Tax & Credit Karma

I know this thread is complaining about Turbo Tax but I would highly recommend Credit Karma for free credit monitoring.  About 10 years ago I received a warning from them that someone tried to open an account at Sears with my info.  When I contacted Sears they really didn't seem to have much info saying someone tried to open an account with my info in Chicago and it was turned down because I already had a Sear's card.  I immediately put a hold on my credit thanks to credit Karma and it tooks Sear's several weeks to realize there was a problem.  So for their free credit monitoring I would recommend credit karma.

@rockygems123 It has all the schedules needed that fit your tax situation.  You can fill it out at no cost until you print and submit.

Re: Turbo Tax & Credit Karma

I use both Turbo Tax and Credit Karma all the time and was never made to feel I needed more than I have-----I've been able to access alot of info about my credit thru them safely. However, I don't anything but the very basics in tax prep either. Try writing or chatting with the company and get your $$ back. It has been years since I actually bought  tax software too.
