Our Tuesday Morning store closed more than 5 years ago.

It was always a challenge not feeling like I had a layer of dust all over me when I walked out of that store.  It was the perfect place to rummage through a ton of stuff, none of which I ever really needed.

I've  never even heard of this store, but I had to laugh at your description of feeling like you're covered in a layer of dust. I have been in places like that lol

I've been to two of them and they were on opposite sides of the spectrum as to how they looked and what they sold.

Where we used to live, the original Tuesday Morning would have a line out the door to get in no matter when you stopped by; it was simply too small and too popular so it moved to a huge site that was once a grocery store. Amazing place. Gorgeous stuff for sale at low prices, displayed well, neat....everything you could want in a store of it's type.

The second one I went to is located about 25 minutes from where we live now. Simply put: a dirty, disgusting store with junk and very little of said junk.  Couldn't believe it was the same chain. I asked around about it and the most common answer was "it's a glorified place to sell garbage".   No idea how it stayed open so wouldn't no surprise it would be chosen to close.

Thought they had closed a while ago. I did not shop all that often in this store. Just did not care for it. Messy and mot much I would care to purchase.

Our store was nice but hasn't had much merchandise in it for close to a year. I finally stopped going there. Sorry to hear it's closing.

Gosh, I haven't heard of Tuesday Mornings in a long time, ours closed probably 10 or more years ago..

My mom and I enjoyed going in and browsing and sometimes buying, but like every other store around here, they just keep closing up.....

Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

I think brick and mortar stores have been slowly dying for a decade, even before the past few years. So many failed to pivot to an online presence. Stores made awful product buying decisions: looking at you, Macy’s and JCP. How many major department stores have gone through multiple bankruptcy filings even before 2020?

The last few years just pushed forward what was already happening. Also, younger buyers really aren’t purchasing and collecting all the STUFF. I’ve always wondered about the wisdom of an economy that is heavily based on consumer overspending.
