I'm very happy to hear that you were finally able to get an appointment.

I just had my vaccination this afternoon.  I don't know how I got my appointment, but I did.  They opened it up to teachers, first responders, and 75+ for today in New York.  My teacher's union sent us links of different vaccination sites.  I just started clicking and I got one right away.  My friends weren't so lucky.  We are all in on a group text now about how the sites keep crashing.  Two of my friends were able to make appoinments, but the site crashed when they went to print their tickets.  I received an email confirmation for my appointment, but they haven't.  Everyone is on edge and very upset.  I feel so bad for everyone.

I have my card and it says I need my second dose by February 8th.  They are supposed to contact me and I apparently don't have to go crazy making an appointment like everyone else.  It seems like a lot for these people to keep track of.  Fingers crossed it can get done... for all who want it.

Have you contacted your PCP?

Wish you luck.

@Drythe -yeah, a few weeks ago.  Very small practice.  Just the doctor and his nurse/receptionist. They said they weren't getting involved at all with the vaccine.

Re: Trying to find the Covid vaccine

Well if GA is at the bottom, not sure where VA is.  Today is the day that 75+ can request a shot, but they were overwhelmed so now you have to fill out a form online and they will "call you."

I was also told that they do not have nearly enough vaccine so we'll see how it goes.

@Suziepeach - my friend in Cherokee is having a hard time scheduling.  How/where did you do it?

@Suziepeach -thanks very much. I just let her know.  She and her husband have appts scheduled for end of month way up in north Georgia and she's trying to find something closer.

So interesting.  Right after I posted,  DH got an email from Kaiser (he's over 75, I'm not yet) telling him he could schedule an appt for the shot - so he's on for tomorrow.  Easy peasy.

Meanwhile, the County site is having people fill out a form to be contacted at a later date.  The telephone calls were immediately overwhelming i guess.
