Re: Trying To Book A COVID Vaccine

I gave up trying to find one. If I wanted to drive far it was easier but I don't drive that far.

I know more people under the age of 50 that got their shot right away which wasn't fair in my book.

If everyone gets a shot, I might not since they make it so difficult.

My city, plus some others here, are opening up huge vaccination centers around town. They are operating 4 days a week for 12 hours each day.  I think that's wonderful.

My state has set up a 2-1-1 phone hotline to get on a list or to answer questions about the vaccine.  I'm impressed.

Re: Trying To Book A COVID Vaccine

All the health providers in our metro area got together and set up a site doing about 9,000 a day and a separate for mobility challenged doing 2,000.

You register and they email back when you can pick.  Don't have to hang around the computer.  They also do the second appointment before you leave.

And parking is free!!

I live in Maine so I can't speak to the NY process, but I will tell you that I went on my local Walmart website at 3 AM in the morning and found lots of available slots on one specific day that was a week away.  I had tried during the day a few times and found nothing, so I figured maybe the appointments "refresh" overnight, and I think I was right.  You might give this strategy a try!  Good luck!

I am also in Maine and was able to get my shot also at Walmart.   I got elderly family shots at Walgreens.  You do need to try around midnight or get up really early to find some of the shots.   I think as someone else said there are Facebook groups in each State that have info what is currently available.  We have a "Dr. Shah" site for our CDC director.

Re: Trying To Book A COVID Vaccine

It is very hard to book an appointment, but keep at it.  Check the websites early in the AM, and there may be slots available.  It's tough, I know.

(They don't book very far in advance, because they may not have product confirmed.)

@Zaimee @Jordan2 Many of my friends in NYC went to Javits. Weren't a couple vaccine sites 24/7 recently?

I registered on so many sites in NJ- and also checked rite aid, walgreens and cvs several times a day. Thankfully I jsut got an email to schedule my vaccine- I'm going at the end of the month!!
