Try to see it as a time to grow!

Maybe it is a retreat, a time to grow, a time to focus, learn something new, try to relax, reach out to others.  Learn enough of another language to make minimal conversation.

Since many of us are basically housebound, have you ever wanted to study a certain subject, read a series of books, do a deep clean of things you don't need?

Well, now you have the time and the lack of disruptions to accomplish a lot, read, be spiritual, read uninterrupted, and take that breath you haven't taken for years.

Call someone on the phone, wish them well, send them a card, let them know you care.

Maybe think of what we can do, for others and for ourselves.

Working on it!  I've been rushing to work since I was 16 to take care of everyone there and then coming home to take care of family here.   It's been a nice 12 hours of peaceful enjoyment so far.  ❤️

I love this, @Sooner!   Time to focus on gratitude, too, I think.   I appreciate you and your contributions to the Community.❤️   Thanks for this thread.

@pitdakota I remember how I always thought people who got sabbaticals were lucky, so now it's my shot at one!  I guess that's how I'm trying to think of it.  Like what have I always wanted to do. . .

So I posted here to get reinforcement!  Woman Very Happy

Absolutely!   I just (Ihope) finished on working on a project involving PPE and I think we have done what we can do at this point and therefore I anticipate I will have more time on hand.

But I am so very grateful to have a home and that my family is safe for now.  So, now on to those things on that list that I always wanted to do, but just didn't ever seem to have time to even get started!

And you had some great suggestions! Heart

@Sooner Omg, it's funny you posted that.  I've actually thought about what it must be like for monastery retreats and how refreshed people seem to be.  I have finally got my chance.

Those of us who don't have to provide essential services have so much time available now. We are absolute millionaires when it comes to time. Every time I've said, "I wish I had time to..." Well, wish granted.

If you're by yourself, you get to really get to know yourself. If you're with someone else, you get to really get reacquainted. If you're with your little kids or grandkids especially...you'll go nuts, let's be honest, but you'll also get to make moments you'll remember forever.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

This is such a wonderful thread.  We all have the choice to focus on whatever we are dealing with as either a negative or an opportunity.  For change, for growth.  Asking the question, “ok, this is where we are at...what can I do in this moment as a positive, to make positive change for myself...what is within MY control at this time”. Always known I am a grateful person, practice gratitude. But now, more than ever...being grateful for truly everything in life.  That does not involve material possessions, whatsoever.

Re: Try to see it as a time to grow!

I did not consider it a time to grow but now I am realizing that I may very well be doing that.

I purchased all the goodies for comfort during these times when we must be inside and now I realize I did not buy enough.

All my gummies are almost gone, out of Cheetos. no more dark chocolate and so forth.

I am growing  by the thighs and waist and my arteries are clogging. Ugh

Have to take your good advice and attitude. Great post @Sooner
