Re: Trust: Given Freely or Earned

As a few others mentioned, I was more trusting when I was younger.  Now, not so much.  I rarely let people get close.  I keep things at a cordial distance.

@YorkieonmyPillow  I'm pretty good at taking folks at face value.  That said, trust is earned with me.

Re: Trust: Given Freely or Earned

Oh, HECK no.

100% earned, with me. Over TIME.

This has nothing to do with being pleasant or sociable or being "friends" with someone. I can, and have, had friends and relatives I didn't trust.  There could even be someone I don't much like, but I trust them based on past observed behavior.

On a forum? BT;DT and...no. Just no.

[ Edited ]

When I first meet new people I don't know I would say I do anything with them that requires a great amount of trust. I just enjoy hanging out with them but they aren't in anyway involved with anything that would require me to trust them.

Once the relationship is more established I would trust they tell me the truth about things until they give me a reason not to. I don't automatically assume people are lying to me.
