A roadrunner (the state bird) is perched watching the balloon ascension. The photo was taken in the Corrales Heights neighborhood outside of Albuquerque.

I was just out in the car and saw that exact same view plus a lot of "renegade" balloons over my neighborhood not affiliated with the fiesta, but no roadrunners.

I saw him yesterday. He crossed the street in front of us just after dawn. Of course, we are 3 hours south of the roadrunner.

Honestly, one of the best photos I have ever seen.  It has interest, location, positioning, scenery.  Just super.  Congratulations on having such a good eye!

Thank you. I cannot take credit as the photographer. I knew when I saw it that it needed to be seen by more people. The photographer's name was not provided, but I am glad they shared with all of us.
