What a day it has been.
At 3:30, I heard a loud crack. Since my neighbor has been doing alot of yardwork, I didn't think too much of it at first. But I went out to check anyway. My 30 yr old mimosa tree had fallen on my car. The hedges cushioned most of the blow. One branch was caught up on my garage roof & the trunk of the tree was resting on the hood of my car. Miraculously, the roof of my car wasn't crushed. But the branches were bowing & I wasn't too sure how long til my roof caved in. We managed to shift the branch enough to move my car.
I called around for a tree trimmer. They came & sawed the branch that was leaning on my garage roof. Only minor damage. Tomorrow they will take out the rest of the tree.
I'm grateful the damage was minimal. But the rains in Calif have caused alot of problems.
Overall, I'm thankful it wasn't worse. But am still pretty shaken.
