Anyone here live near the overnight train derailment in Tennessee?Burned and released toxic cyanide gas, hospitalizing many and causing evacuation of 5,000 people during the night. I hope everyone is safe....

I live about 30 minutes away. They say that everyone should be back in their homes by tonight. Businesses are reopening sometime today. There was a shelter that was taking pets for an overnight stay. You could also stay in a hotel and be reimbursed.

I agree totally about not leaving pets... when I had three cats, I had three carriers in case we had to evacuate for a hurricane... now I have one cat, but I still have 3 carriers (maybe for a future fur baby?). If a shelter wouldn't take us, we would just have to live in the car for a few days - but no leaving my babies!!
