Hi All,
Just spent the Thanksgiving holiday with my sister for two days (felt like a month!) What is really sad about this get together is that my husband and I decided that my sister is very mentally ill and we are not saying this out trying to be funny or bashing in any way. It is very sad to come to this conclusion after all of these years, but it has been there for many years. Just to let you know, I am the oldest of 5 children ( almost 66). She is the middle child, will be 58 in the Spring. Her husband is a "gem" of a guy and will be 60 in March, but we now feel he is an enabler in the worst sense.
Do you have any suggestions for dealing with "toxic relatives" as I am sure this problem is rampant? My husband, who has the patience of Job, says she is no longer welcome in our house since he is sick and tired of the same bad behavior she seems to display over and over without consequences.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
