Candy probably has a lot of investment income that she is giving to her children instead of using the principle of her vast wealth.  She also collects social security and probably gives that to Tori as well. She's smart not to give each of her two children $10 million a piece and then call it a day.  Doubtful that amount would last Tori a life time and if Tori had that kind of money, her husband would probably clean out 1/2 and split.

@truffle

Not sure why you think Candy is so savvy ....  and nice.

She had her landlord try to evict her .... before she moved into her $35 million penthouse condo which she first spent $$$$$$$ and a year "upgrading" before she moved in!

I don't know everything about her like you do!!  I'm leaving this thread now.

@truffle

I certainly don't know everything about her.  I lived in that area for over 20 years and her behavior was constantly being talked about in the neighborhood .... and in the papers.

@Tinkrbl44 that special I mentioned a few posts back highlighted her shall we say delightful behavior in terms of making people unecessarily miserable which unfortunately clearly made her day.  The one that springs to mind was when she was picking out incredibly expensive marble for her kitchen and even at that level folks didn't know what to do with her anymore as she was being such a pain.

My problem with this woman is she married well when Aaron was first launching his career and proceeded to spend as much of his money as she wanted.  He clearly had no problem with it but it doesn't give her license to run roughshod over the folks she comes in contact with on a daily basis.  I have more than my share of issues with Tori's spending but I also have an equal amount for Candy as she was on the flush side of Aaron's will.

@momtochloe

I saw that TV special!    By the time it was over, I had to admit, she was a real PITA!   NOT someone I would ever want to deal with!   ugh

Candy is worth $600 million.Maybe Tori and her younger brother were "cheated" out of a fair inheritance but those were the terms and if they disputed it they got nothing.  It's hard to live on $800,000 forever while thinking about investing a sizable portion of it too and hoping for a good return for their future. Obviously, they wanted their children to carve out their own life. I think Tori tried with her sitcom (before her reality show) though short-lived but marrying that dude and having so many kids when he was not employable....no. But I think Tori really tried to make a go of it in the entertainment industry, the only business she knew.

And that was the problem, they should have taken her inheritance money and lived like the ordinary people they were.  Daddy was rich, famous and talented and no one cheated Tori out of anything....Daddy's money never was her money.  I'm sure she could have gone to college and become anything she wanted to be.  A doctor, a lawyer, a chef,  a teacher, an architect......anything.  But she couldn't have a career in the entertainment field because she couldnt do anything, she had no talent.  And then she married a deadbeat.  They should have taken her inheritance and opened a McDonalds or or KFC franchise.

@truffle Tori made over $15 million from her TV show before she met and married Dean, what happened to that Money? And her brother never complained about his inheritance.

She spent like she had $150 million...lol    She thought money multiplied like the fishes & the loaves.....it just would never run out.

Candy is not responsible for taking care of her 40 + daughter or her almost 50 year old husband. I'm not a fan of Candy Spelling but Tori needs to grow up and she and Dean need to support their own kids. I

It's outrageous that they keep having babies and can't afford to take care of them, remember that weird story of him not being able to afford his vasectomy? Pawn or sell some of their junk, that would pay for one! Why in heaven's name would you keep on having babies if you can't support your first child?

Tori is over 40 and should have grown up by now! Tori should have been in counseling twenty years ago, it's time for her to grow up, accept her responsibility in this mess and stop blaming her mother for all of her troubles.

There are women who are really struggling out there with babies and with deadbeats for husbands too. They could give her real lessons of taking care of your kids without support.

Tori never didn't accept responsiblity for her hoarding. She always said she had a problem.  I don't think she ever blamed her overspending upon her mother either.

Tori is a sweet girl.  She's a lost soul, and she's not handling her finances properly, but she's a sweet girl.

Her mother doesn't appear to have been a loving or nurturing parent.

Early on Candy enabled this overspending behavior.  No, it's not her mother's fault that Tori and Dean are in debt.  Yes, it her partly her mother's fault that Tori is so messed up.

Oh sure....lets blame it on the Mother!

Well if you would READ what I typed, I never blamed her spending patterns on her mother!  Clearly...you didn't.

At what point do you stop blaming mommy for your issues? They are adults and should be responsible for themselves. It's not like this is the first time they've had money issues.

Re: Tori and Dean's Bank Accounts Seized by the Internal Revenue Service

Based on what I've witnessed in my own family and with friends:

If you constantly bail someone out, they will never learn to take care of themselves. Tori and Dean are NOT financially responsible for their own children.... they need to be. They know Candy will and IS paying for their children via the rent of whatever place they choose, the education of a private school as well as parties, gifts, clothing, etc. I understand the "but I don't want my grandchildren to suffer" mentality however....this lets the parents off the hook in a huge way.

Growing up in extreme wealth is nothing like the how the majority of people are raised; nope, it isn't. The attitudes, how you treat "stuff" and people... it's a different world and then some. Add in that this is not old money we're talking but Hollywood flash; THAT is another situation where must of us can't understand (or would want) how it is. I've always felt sorry for those who grow up under the shadow of a famous Hollywood parent; being judge, being watched, being talked about, etc. What child needs that? Add in parents that are often (but not always) wrapped up in themselves and the fakeness of it all.... misery for most.

Tori and Dean are going to need something REALLY dramatic/traumatic to make them see the light and grow up. What that will be, I don't know. Perhaps Candy saying "I'm no longer paying for your children".

NOW what will they do? Sink or swim, I suppose.
