IMHO I think QVC has way too many clothing shows.
@RedHeadedWench If you'll read QVC's annual financial report, you'll see why they have so many and seem to be increasing. It's one of the few areas where they've had a substantial increase in sales. They are about all I watch.
@Kachina624First, and with all due respect, I could care less about QVC's financial reports, that being said...the reason they are making money on clothing is, because it costs SO LITTLE in China to produce these clothing, handbag, shoe, etc etc items. Losses...ie returns and/or lack of sales do not matter, because they can sell the overages and returns to secondary markets or place them on Zulily.
That's why there are so many clothing, etc etc shows.

@RedHeadedWench The reason doesn't matter, but the fact is clothing sales have increased thus more clothing shows and emphasis on fashion. By the way, QVC doesn't supply merchandise to Zulily. Their merchandise comes from manufacturers and distributors.

@Tinkrbl44 wrote:Or maybe "too much Lori" isn't the problem. Maybe people are watching way too many hours of QVC every week?
QVC schedules programs for both people who are home all day ... and then again later for those that have jobs. So, of course, there will be vendors on air ... repeatedly.
I think the point is more that they aren't watching. Many people (me included) used to have QVC on as background noise, like the radio. When I did, I might see a product I hadn't been exposed to before, or something I could make good use of, and buy.
But since QVC has switched to the TSV (whatever it is) being promoted 18 hrs out of 24 and the other hours filled with the same total of 10-12 brands, we have bought it all and seen it all. There isn't any reason to even have it on for only partial attention any more, and people don't watch, they change the channel.
It doesn't matter what or who the vendor or product is - too many hours of one item or the same few items is too many hours, whether it's Lori Grenier or Logo or Dyson or Serta or Mally. It used to be that if there was nothing on "now", there was good likelihood there would be something more to a person's liking in 3-4 hrs. That's no longer true. Many days, if you tune in at 8 am, tune back in at noon or 1 pm, and again at 7 pm (NOT what I'd call "watching all day"), you'd see the same product(s) - so, you don't watch - not only not "all day", but not very often any more at all.
People have found other shopping channels to watch, or other things to do, but they don't watch QVC because of lack of any kind of variety, and the continuous infomercial approach right down to the loudmouth huckstering.
That said, "these people" (including me) don't matter a whit to QVC, because SOME people ARE buying. If we've fallen out of the basket, there are plenty of replacements.

Yes, many if the same vendors that supply QVC.
